Team LED finds inspiration wherever we go, and luckily we all have the opportunity to travel quite a bit! We hand picked a few photos that inspire us and we want to share our favorite travel moments with you.
On a road trip from South Carolina to Las Vegas in May (to reunite with team LED for the summer!), Hannah made sure she pulled over at all of the best stops- from roadside panoramas to the most popular National Parks, she saw it all.
Team LED is always inspired by nature and the colors found from plants, the sky and even dirt. Check out that red sand in Sedona- we think it pairs so beautifully with the greens in the plants and the blue sky. Seems like the perfect color palette for a new bedroom we’re working on! And the pops of color found from Seven Magic Mountains? Reminds of us some pop art, like something Andy Warhol would paint, which we’re always ready to hang on a wall!
While Hannah covered basically everywhere in the U.S., Austrie headed to Canada to visit the amazing city of Toronto. Staying downtown led to hours of endless architectural beauty and adventure! From the design of the subway stations to the integration of old and new architecture- we love the charm!
We can’t help but be drawn to these neon jellyfish. A black light room with ever changing lights lead to the most mesmerizing and colorful exhibit!
Lisa made it a bit further east than the rest of us- to Washington D.C. for a trip with her mom, Gail, a ten-year leukemia survivor. They took in the sights and joined others to advocate on behalf of cancer patients seeking insurance coverage after diagnosis.
They made the most of their short time there, when not advocating, by taking a segway tour (we’ll spare you the pictures of Lisa in a helmet), visiting the monuments down The National Mall, and wandering through the Smithsonian museums. We love the fact that the Smithsonians are completely free to the public! One of Lisa’s faves being the National Gallery of Art, because Picasso!
The Albert Einstein Memorial is stunning and huge!
In June, Lisa also took a trip to San Francisco to attend Game 2 of the NBA Playoffs- Cleveland @ Golden State Warriors. Attending such an important game at Oracle is indescribable! Because we like to design for all five senses, an atmosphere like Roaracle + such an important game was the perfect inspiration. You can SEE people celebrating and confetti falling after a win, you can HEAR screaming and cheering of fans (It’s called the ROARacle for a reason!), you sense TOUCH while high-fiving complete strangers, TASTE the game day nachos and SMELL the sweet, sweet smell of victory! Congratulations to the Golden State Warriors!
But of course, a trip to SF wasn’t complete without a visit to the Museum of Modern Art to see some authentic Roy Lichtenstein pieces!
In June, Lisa was invited as a guest to visit Cambria in Minnesota as a Style Maker. She was inspired by designers from all over the U.S. as they met together and learned about all Cambria has to offer. Stay tuned for a blog post to follow all about her trip there!
We feel so lucky to be able to travel and be inspired for all of our projects. We’re so excited about everything we have in the works and can’t wait to share it with you!
