During my interview with Nicole and Mark on SPOTLIGHT ON VEGAS BUSINESS, I gave some tips on how to add interest to your home with the first day of summer officially approaching next month. I promised some really great pieces and here they are without further ado…. plus a few more items I’d love to add to my home décor.
Bring color and life to your space by adding potted plants, flowers and succulents. I go for neutral colored containers so that the plant life is the star of the show. Glass vessels are also perfect for floral arrangements.
Jen Ramos of Made By Girl always has gorgeous flowers surrounding her, these are some of my favorites.
How fun are these succulent arrangements by Stephanie Sterjovski??
Another suggestion is to swap out throw pillows. If you’re a lover of fur or mohair like myself, it’s best to put those away until temperatures drop again. Summer weather calls for lighter fabrics like canvas and cotton blends. Here are some of my favorites over at Amber Interiors Shoppe, along with other bedding items. Indigo and denim prints are ultra cool, especially when mixed with white cotton and wood elements.
The palm leaf print is a popular pattern choice in the design world, here are a couple fun ways to incorporate it.
Green Palm Square Pillows with Piping by Square Fox Designs.
Shower Curtain by TheAestate in the Beverly III print.
Beverly I print Duvet Cover by TheAestate.
The original Beverly Hills Hotel “Martinique” Wallpaper.
My final tip for sprucing up your space and getting ready for triple digit temperatures (at least here in Vegas!) is to treat yourself to some new art. If you’re lucky enough to plan a summer getaway, then find a new piece during your travels. If you’ll be hustling like myself… nothing better than a photograph to make you feel like you’re on vacation. Here are my favorite shots from Gray Malin’s colorful collections with a summertime vibe.
I’d love to hear what you do to give your space a summer facelift! Share with us!
