Wonderwall Studios, headquartered in the Netherlands, is a creative studio that designs and produces wood panelling for walls and surfaces. They use exclusively salvaged wood and employ local, professional craftsman. In the words of Wonderwall Studios themselves, “You could say we craft locally and rock globally.” We love it!
We must admit, time-out as a child would have been a whole lot more interesting if it meant we got cornered into one of these beautiful installations!
They believe in more than just beautiful product though. They make sure they take proper care of the communities they work in and the people they work with. The woods they use are exclusively salvaged from abandoned houses, derelict sheds, rail road-sleepers, naturally fallen trees and old floors. “Joyous materials and sustainability through reclamation”- that’s what they’re all about! They prefer the term “upscale” to “recycle” because they really do enhance the wood they find. As they say, “we don’t just give it a second life; we give it a better one.”
We love the fact that Wonderwall offers so much more than a feature wall. These installations can become more of a sculptural form, a definite conversation starter! There’s so much warmth, richness and substance in every piece.
