For most college freshmen, moving into the dorms this fall will be their first foray into independent living, but that doesn’t mean it comes without rules: no holes in the walls, no paint, no removing furniture, no damage to the room. But don’t despair, there’s plenty of ways to make the room your own, and make it suit your needs.
This June, Lisa and fifteen other top interior designers from across the US- Nevada, New York, Texas, Michigan, California, Illinois, Florida and Ohio were treated to joining Cambria’s bi-annual Residential Style Makers Summit, in Minneapolis, MN. Cambria is the only family owned, American-made quartz producer whose products are made of 93% pure, natural quartz, making their product superior to the rest. Not only are their designs a stunning addition to any space, but they are also resistant to scratches, stains and have little to no need for maintenance.
As designers, we are always looking to get a jump start on applying future trends to our work to keep things fresh and exciting. It’s our job, as designers, to know what trends will stay timeless for our clients and transform their space into a place they can enjoy now and in the future.
We all have those Instagram pages that our feed would not be complete without. That one post a day you look forward to seeing to make you laugh, think or get inspired.
So does each member of Team LED, and we are ready to share our favorite IG follows with you. Here is a little inside scoop on each of our top pages that brighten our design days.
This year, in honor of WithIt’s 20th anniversary, student educational scholarships were awarded to women studying to be a part of the design industry. One of these recipients was our youngest team member, Hannah Carlton. This June, she had the pleasure of being flown out to the WithIt 2017 Annual Professional Women’s Conference for the Home and Furnishings Industries, in Charleston, SC. Here she had the opportunity to listen to many keynote speakers, given by influential women in the industry. The impressive list included Eleanor Beaton, President and CEO of Impact & Influence for Women, Carol Sankar, author of The Confidence Factor For Women in Business, Lynne Jensen-Nelson, Conversion-omics Sales Training, and many more influential interior designers, decorators and home furnishing industry icons.
Team LED finds inspiration wherever we go, and luckily we all have the opportunity to travel quite a bit! We hand picked a few photos that inspire us and we want to share our favorite travel moments with you.
Have you caught the decorating bug? It’s always the same story. Once you start planning out a new project, you suddenly start to see elements in other rooms that you’d like to change too. Do you really have the time and ability to decorate more than one room at a time?
Whilst living in Barcelona, I saw mini cacti being sold all over La Rambla, and I quickly developed a love for our prickly friends. They make any space feel so airy and light. There are so many types and colors to play around with, as well as some neat display options. My personal favorites are minimalist wall art pieces, terrariums that either sit on display or even hang from the ceiling, and the unique ceramic pieces that house multiple baby cacti. Much like my two head vases I filled with my own mini cacti garden just the other day!
What drives you to get involved in your community? Not only do we love being a part of projects that benefit Las Vegas and the youth, but team LED is driven to volunteer for a variety of reasons. We interviewed our team on why we’re each thrilled to be involved with the Las Vegas Showcase House and where that passion stems from.
