In the world of home transformations, our latest project takes the cake! With our client’s trust and our team’s vision, we’re taking an outdated Tuscan styled home and are turning it into a modern retreat.
The first steps to designing or remodeling any space is selecting your finishes. Flooring, paint colors, counter tops, back splashes, shower walls, fireplace stone…there are so many different options! We like to create mood boards where we place all of the finishes together to make sure they complement one other. Don’t be afraid to put everything together and swap out different finishes to find the perfect one. Placing samples next to each other and stacking them on top of each other will help you get a feel for the space.
Detailing each room will allow you to dive even deeper selecting the finishes, appliances and fixtures in that specific space. For example, check out the finishes we selected in the laundry room & kitchen. Our client wanted a sophisticated and neutral space- repainting the cabinetry a beige/gray and pairing it with wood-like tile flooring mixed with a splash of metallics through this rectangular back splash.
We allowed these samples to help us envision the finished space. Now that changes are being made, we want to share them with you! Check out some of them thus far:
Stain the honey colored millwork a dark espresso color.
Impress guests with a feature… look at the new rectangular-shaped firebox and how it expands the fireplace with the addition of vertical tile work all the way to the ceiling.
DURING & AFTER:
Repaint the peachy walls a neutral gray, square off the walls for a contemporary vibe and add insets for TV’s.
Add a 3D wood wall to accentuate the dining space.
If replacing cabinetry isn’t in the budget, painting the cabinetry may be your best option. In that case, a neutral color will be a great base to the kitchen design, as well as a flashy and modern backsplash tile.
Another part of our process is creating plans to truly figure out how everything will fit- down to the inch! These conceptual tools allow us to plan out each space perfectly and ensure that our client’s carpenters and contractors are able to create custom pieces based on our ideas, such as these vanities in the master bathroom.
With these plans drawn, we’re ready for the next step! While our team works with the contractors on the finish selection and our client has custom vanities built and installed, we’ll show you the “before” images.
You’ll have to come back to check out the finished product! So far, we’re loving the transformation.
